The Faith Statement of Christ’s Love:

The authority of the Bible: Giving revelations from the Father, witnessing Jesus Christ, and to be interpreted by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the sixty-six books of Scripture are inspired by God, being true and historically accurate-
“…the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
(2 Timothy 3:15)
The nature of God: Termed in church history the Trinity, God is three eternal Persons, revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, yet One Being-
“I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30)
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58)
“For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21)
The nature of Jesus: Jesus was fully human and fully divine-
“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ – which means, ‘God with us.’”
(Matthew 1:22-23)
The nature of people: People were created in the image of God, but people were separated from God due to disobedience-
“So God created people in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
“… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23)
The Atonement: Jesus was the substitutional atonement for sins-
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (I Peter 3:18)
“This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:28)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 6:23)
The Resurrection: Jesus was crucified, died, placed in a tomb, and then resurrected-
“Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” (Luke 24:39)
Salvation: Jesus offers salvation to all people, a gift of mercy and grace which is received by faith in Him-
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he or she dies…’” (John 11:25)
Justification and adoption into the family of God: All who believe in Jesus are forgiven of sins, justified, baptized with the Holy Spirit, and adopted as children of God-
“[Jesus] was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25)
“I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’” (John 1:33)
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
Sanctification: All followers of Jesus are called to grow in the love of Jesus, becoming more like Christ, which is made possible with the Holy Spirit-
“…by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life…” (2 Timothy 1:8-9)
Baptism: Jesus instructed believers to be baptized in water as an outward sign of their new life in Christ-
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19)
The Lord’s Supper: Communion is another ordinance which Jesus instructed His disciples to partake of-
“The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.’” (I Corinthians 24-25)
The Church and churches: The Church consists of all followers of Jesus, and Biblical churches are communities led by followers who have been called to such distinct service-
“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” (Acts 2:41)
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care- not because you must, but because you are willing…” (I Peter 5:2)
The second coming of Christ: Jesus will come again, Jesus will rapture believers, Jesus will rescue Israel and reign over all, Jesus will judge the living and the dead, and all believers will live in intimate and
eternal communion with the Lord God Almighty.
“Behold, I am coming soon!...” (Revelation 22:7)
“On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west...” (Zechariah 14:4)
“Now the dwelling of God is with people, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes…” (Revelation 21:3)
